Our Trains

 Train 1

Atlantic LNG began commercial operation on March 13, 1999 with Train 1. Train 1 was the first LNG facility to operate in the Atlantic basin and the second in the Western hemisphere. Completed one month ahead of schedule and under budget, Train 1’s first cargo was delivered on April 30, 1999 to the LNG carrier, The Matthew, bound for the Distrigas terminal in Boston, Massachusetts. The facility was handed over to Atlantic operators by EPC contractor Bechtel Overseas Inc. on June 14, 1999.

Trains 2 & 3

Construction of Trains 2 and 3 commenced in the first quarter of 2000.  Train 2 was completed ahead of schedule on August 12, 2002. Train 3 was also commissioned ahead of schedule on April 28, 2003.   Trains 2 and 3 supply some 12,000 barrels of natural gas liquids (NGLs) to Phoenix Park Gas Processors Ltd. (PPGPL) under a 20 year agreement. PPGPL transports, fractionates and stores all Train 2/3 NGLs and markets a portion of the NGLs to key Caribbean markets and other international destinations.  The arrangement establishes Trinidad as the “natural gas liquids hub” of the region and maximises the value of NGLs to the country.
