Business Principles and Code of Ethics

Atlantic’s Business Principles establish the company’s commitment to the highest ethical standards in our business operations. All persons associated with Atlantic’s operations are therefore required to make the responsible choice in their daily functions in accordance with the Ethical Standards set out in the Code of Ethics. The Code provides guidance on how we deal with each other and how we are to treat everyone with whom we interact in our daily functions.

How we achieve our goals at Atlantic, matters as much as achieving them, therefore acting with integrity, treating people with respect, accountability and high standards of performance are critical to building productive relationships with our business partners and the communities in which we work.

Our Ethical Standards relate to:

  1. Atlantic Personnel
  2. Suppliers
  3. Health Safety and the Environment
  4. Governments, Regulatory Agencies and Communities
  5. Company Assets and Financial Integrity.

We encourage a workplace where persons feel free to ask questions if they are unsure what to do. Concerns regarding compliance with the Code of Ethics or Business Principles can be raised via the ‘Speak Out’ mechanism which facilitates confidential and anonymous reporting via a telephone hotline, via the internet or in writing.

While the Code cannot possibly cover every subject area or situation, it seeks to guide our people regarding the right questions to ask, the right persons to consult and the right way to make decisions. It provides an ethical decision-making framework and a list of available resources where persons can obtain guidance and raise ethical concerns.

The Code of Ethics is supported by several operational policies which include

  • Employment of Persons working with HIV/AIDS
  • Employment of Young Persons
  • Volunteerism Policy
  • Equal Opportunity Policy
  • Donations Policy
  • Recruitment and Selection Policy
  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy
  • Disciplinary Policy and Procedure
  • Due Diligence Standard
  • Bribery and Risk Management Standard
  • Sponsorship Policy
