Marine Trainee Programme

Atlantic’s Marine Trainee Programme is aimed at providing young people pursuing a course of study in maritime operations with an opportunity to develop the requisite knowledge and competence for becoming Marine Coordinators.

The 18-month programme comprises both classroom-based learning and on-the-job training that leads toward earning the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualification (TTNVQ) in Marine Operations. In conjunction with the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), trainees will spend the first six (6) months of the programme attending classes at UTT, as well as site-specific classes at Atlantic.

On completion of the classroom training, trainees receive on-the-job training over a 12-month period, within Atlantic’s Production-Marine department. During this time, they work alongside the team, gain shift experience and undergo assessment to determine their competence as Marine Coordinators.
