Rio Claro Hindu left the Brian Lara Cricket Academy today (June 14) a happy bunch, as they defeated Monte Video Government by 20 runs in the finals of the U-11 tournament of the Atlantic National Primary Schools Cricket League.
The star of the show for Rio Claro Hindu was Sameer Ramdath who top scored with 36. He took his school to 96 for three in their allotted 10 overs. Apart from Ramdath who is attached to the Kumar Rampath Cricket Academy (KRCA), Justin Beesai also batted well in getting 34. Zakilon Beckles a young man from Toco who also trains at the KRCA was the pick of the bowlers with 2/14.
He then batted well in getting 35 but did not get the required support to take Monte Video to the title. Sachin Rambarath was very good with the ball for Rio Claro Hindu as he took three wickets for 12 runs.
