Rochard Douglas and ASJA Girls take Victoria and Caroni in Atlantic Primary Schools Cricket

Rochard Douglas Presbyterian continued to dominate southern Primary schools cricket as they took the finals of the Victoria Division of the Atlantic National Primary Schools Cricket League.

Rochard Douglas came up against Picton Presbyterian and they were no match for the more experience players from Rochard Road. Batting first, Rochard Douglas made 123 runs all out in the 25th over. Anthony Arrindell was the best of the batsmen on show with 24 runs. Bowling for Picton Pres Rishard Ali finished 4/17, which brought joy to the man supporters they had at the ground.

Picton Pres were confident at the break that could have challenged the score but they did not take into consideration Arrindell as he returned with the ball to wreck them. Arrindell claimed 4/13 and was well supported by Jameel Sankar with two wickets for six runs.

… ASJA Girls cop Caroni girls’ title

Charlieville ASJA put in a fine display with both bat and ball to claim the Caroni Girls final crown at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Friday.

The young girls were very happy to be playing at this new state of the art facility and ASJA girls left the venue very happy after they took out Todd’s Road RC by five wickets. Shanna Joseph with 35 not out and Vani Surujbally 19 not out thought they had taken their school to a good score of 105/5 in 15 overs. However, this proved to be an easy walkover for ASJA as they reached their target at 104/4 with relative ease.
